Chak hao kheer is a black rice pudding. It originates from Manipuri in India. Chak hao kheer becomes a beautiful rich purple color is because of the black rice.
This rice pudding uses black glutinous rice, also known as forbidden black rice. This type of rice is high in fibers, rich in antioxidants, and low in calories.
The rice should be soaked in water before use. Soak the rice for 4 to 5 hours. Because this rice takes longer to cook than other rice.

Ingredients:
Black rice - 1 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
Cardamom - 2
Bay leaf - 1
Jaggery - 1/4 cup
Coconut - 2 tsp
Nuts - 2 tsp
Instructions:
Wash and soak rice for 4 to 5 hours, then add into pressure cooker with soaked water, cook for 4 whitsle
Once the pressure is out, mash the rice will, keep aside
Boil milk with bay leaf and cardamom
Add powdered jaggery to the boiling milk and boil till jaggery melts in it
Then add chopped coconut and nuts
Now add mashed cooked black rice and mix well
Boil for 2 minutes and serve hot
