Cholar Dal Recipe is a no onion no garlic, traditional Bengali Dish made with Bengal Gram or chana dal.

Ingredients:
Chana dal - 1 cup
Green chili - 3
Coconut - 2 tsp
Dried grapes - 2 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Chili powder - 1 tsp
Cumin seed powder - 1 tsp
Coriander seed powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4
Cinnamon - 1/2 inch
Dried red chili - 3
Bay leaf - 1
Hing -1 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Oil - 3 tsp
Instructions:
Wash and soak chana dal for 1 hour, then cook it for 3 whistles and keep aside
In a pan add oil, coconut, dry grapes, cinnamon & bay leaf, then green chili & Hing, sauté until aromatic
Now in a bowl add ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and mix with water
Now pour this masala paste to it and sauté well
Add cooked chana dal and mix well
Add required salt to it and boil for 10 minutes
Serve hot
