Chungdi is the local name for prawns and Chungdi Malai is Odisha’s delicious creamy coconut and prawn curry. This delicious curry is enriched with light and mild spices adding to its silkiness. Filled with flavor as every dish in Odisha is, this delightful curry is best paired with some steaming Basmati rice.

Ingredients:
Prawns - 1 cup
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
Coconut mil - 1/2 cup
Cinnamon -1
Cloves - 2
Cardamon - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chili powder - 1 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Oil - 2 tsp
Instructions:
Wash and clean prawns, then add turmeric powder and salt, mix and marinate it for 15 minutes.
Now in a pan add oil, then add marinated prawns to it and fry for 5 minutes, strain and keep aside
In the same oil, add cinnamon, cloves and cardamon, then add onion and saute until its soft
Now add ginger-garlic paste to it and saute it until aromatic
Add tomato, saute untill mushy
Now add chili powder and salt as per taste and mix
Add fried prawns and mix well
Pour coconut milk to it and mix and cook until prawns are done
Serve hot with hot rice
