Hara Dhania choliya from state- Haryana

Hara Dhaniya Cholia is a popular dish from the Indian state of Haryana. It is a curry made with fresh green chickpeas and cilantro. The dish is also known as Cilantro Green Chickpeas Curry.

Since I couldn't get fresh chickpeas, as it was out of seasonal, I have used green gram instead of Fresh green chickpeas.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Green Peas / Green gram

  • Onion - 1

  • Green chili - 1

  • Ginger-Garlic paste - 1 tsp

  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

  • Chili powder - 1 tsp

  • Coriander seed powder - 1 tsp

  • Cumin seed powder - 1 tsp

  • Salt - as per taste

  • Oil - 1 tsp

Instructions:

  1. Add oil in a pan, once heated add cumin seeds, green chili, sauté it

  2. Then add chopped onion sauté, ginger-garlic paste, sauté until aromatic

  3. Add fresh green chickpeas/green gram, mix well

  4. Now add turmeric, chili, cumin, coriander seeds powder & salt as per taste, mix well

  5. Then add required water & cover & cook until done

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves & serve
