Koat pitha

The Koat Pitha is more of a dessert made with jaggery, rice flour, and bananas. It is a widely famous dish among the Mizo community. The crisp outer part and melting interiors are what make this dish a hit.

Koat Pitha Recipe is similar to the Kerala Unniyappa. Which makes a best snacks for masala tea/coffee time.


In the North East it is widely consumed as a delicious dessert on almost all the special occasions.


LETS GET COOKING:


Koat pitha



Course : Snack




Cuisine : Indian




Prep time : 5 minutes




Process time : 15 minutes




Total time : 20 minutes


Ingredients:

  • Ripped Banana - 1

  • Rice flour - 1 cup

  • Powder jaggery - 1 cup

  • Salt - 1 tsp

  • Sesame oil - for fry

Instructions:

  1. Take ripped banana, smash them using smasher or fork

  2. To this add rice flour and powder jaggery

  3. Add salt as per taste to it, and mix them until it form a dough

  4. Rest the dough for 15 minutes

  5. Take small dough and form a round shape

  6. Add the shaped dough into hot oil and deep fry them

  7. Fry them until they are cooked and strain them

  8. Serve hot.
