Kasayam refers to a water decoction or water extract of a single herb or group of herbs or fruits and can be used for ailments like indigestion, cough and common cold etc. It is an ancient form of medicine that has been used for a long time.
Pineapples contain bromelain, an enzyme with anti-inflammatory properties. It fights infections and kills bacteria. - Drinking pineapple juice helps soothe a sore throat and aids the body to expel mucous easily. The bromelain present in pineapple also helps to calm cough arising due to the cold.

Pineapple Kasayam
Course : Detox / Drink
Cuisine : Indian
Prep time :10 minutes
Process time : 15minutes
Total time : 25 minutes
Ingredients:
Pineapple - 5 pieces
Ginger- 1 inch
Garlic - 5
Turmeric - 1/2 inch or powder - 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder - 2 tsp
Lemon juice - 1/2
Salt - as per taste
Honey - 2 tsp
Water - 4 glass
Instructions:
Take a cast iron pan, into it add pineapple pieces, then pour 4 glass of water. Bring to boil
Add crushed ginger-garlic and turmeric into it. keep boiling along with it.
Now add pepper powder and salt and give a mix and keep boiling for other 15minutes. Off the flame.
Add lemon juice and mix.
Now strain the kasayam and add honey in severing glass.
Mix well and serve warm.
Grinding the masalas all is been done with amikkal(hand grinder), you can used the powder, to make your dish faster.
