Homemade cerelac porridge or sathu maavu koozh is a healthy weight gaining food for babies. It can be done in jiffy when you have a stock of this homemade cerelac powder/sathu maavu. It's a wholesome meal which keeps your baby's tummy full for a long time.
This homemade cerelac porridge can be given to babies of age 7 and 8 months plus. When you introduce this porridge to your baby for the first time, start with a tsp. Follow 3 days wait rule and if no allergic symptoms are seen, gradually increase the quantity.

Note:
Sterilize the bowls and spoons used for feeding your baby in a vessel with hot water for five minutes and keep it immersed in the same vessel until use.
LETS SEE HOW TO PREPARE:
Sathu Maavu Porridge
Course : Baby/Toddler food
Cuisine : Indian
Prep time : 5 minutes
Process time : 10 minutes
Total time : 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Sathu maavu powder - 1 tsp
Water- 1/2 glass
Ghee - 1 tsp
Instructions:
Take 1 tsp of sathu maavu powder into bowl.
Add water little by little and mix wittout any lumps.
Add ghee into the mixture.
Keep the bowl on the stove and start mixing them in low flame, keep adding water in between if it becomes thick.
Always off the flame, when the porridge is in little thick consistency, once cooled down it will become thick.
Transfer them to a serving bowl.
Serve!
keep in mind:
Salt or sugar is not advisable for babies under one year.
No cow's milk below 1 year.
You can add any of vegetables puree to any of the porridge, as a sweetener.
You can add even mothers milk or formula milk and grind the puree.
You can feed them as breakfast in 7th month onwards.
Follow 3 day rule.
