Silver Pomfret Fry

A useful brain food, the pomfret is good for eyesight and healthy hair and skin. .This fish is a high-protein, low-fat food that provides a range of health benefits.

Pomfret has a light texture and sweet, rich flavor. It has a high content of good fats, thereby getting the name, butterfish. It is a great source of calcium, vitamins A and D, and B vitamins, including Vitamin B12, vital for the nervous system.



FEW TIPS AND TRICKS.
Always add lemon juice or vinegar when you make fish fry since it adds nice taste and eliminates the fishy odor.
Marinate fish pieces in the masala for minimum 30 mins. Longer you marinate the deeper flavor.
Fry fish pieces in coconut oil for maximum flavor.
Go heavy on the curry leaves. it adds so much flavor.

HOW TO GET RID OF FISH SMELL FROM FISH?
1)Mix salt and turmeric in fish and leave to marinate for 10 mins. Rinse it well.
2)Apply vinegar or lemon juice over fish and wash it well.
3)Apply, salt, turmeric, lemon juice over fish and marinate for 10 mins. Now wash it well.
4)Soak it in milk: Casein, a protein found in milk, will bind to the fish and leave the fish smelling fresh as ever.
5)Mixture Of Corn Starch, Salt And Powdered Turmeric. Apply this over fish and wash it well.
6)Plain salt water can get rid of the fish smell.

Silver Pomfret Fry

Ingredients:


  • Silver Pomfret fish - sliced - 1/2 kg

  • Gram flour - 1/2 cup

  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup

  • Corn flour - 1/4 cup

  • Dried red chili paste- 1 tsp

  • Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp

  • Turmeric - 1 tsp

  • Ajwain - 1 tsp

  • Chat masala - 1 tsp

  • Curry leaves - 1 string

  • Curd - 3 TSP

  • Lemon juice - 2 tsp

  • Salt - as per taste

  • Water - 1/2 cup

  • Oil - 4 tsp

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl take cleaned and washed silver pomfret fish

  2. Add gram flour, rice flour and corn flour into other bowl

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and turmeric paste

  4. Then add red chili paste, curd and crushed ajwain, finally lemon juice with required salt

  5. Add water and mix well into thick batter

  6. Now add cleaned silver pomfret to the batter and coat them well

  7. Marinate them for 15min

  8. In a cast-iron pan, add oil, once heated, fry fish 1 by 1, flip and cook both sides

  9. Strain them from oil, finally sprinkle them with chat masala and fried curry leaves

  10. Enjoy

Grinding the masalas all is been done with amikkal(hand grinder), you can used the powder, to make your dish faster.
