Wheat- Grass Shots [SEED to Table]

Wheatgrass is the name of the young grass of a wheat plant. It is a thick, dry grass that looks like hay or straw but is bright green. It plays a role in natural and holistic medicine, and it may have some specific health benefits.


Some people call wheatgrass green blood because it contains high source of chlorophyll, which gives wheatgrass products an unusual green hue.


Wheatgrass contains few calories, but is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, and enzymes.

People can consume wheatgrass fresh or in various other ways, such as fresh or frozen juice, tablets, and powder.


One way to consume raw wheatgrass or wheatgrass powder is in a smoothie or juice. However, it does have an overpowering taste. Mixing it with an ingredient that has a strong taste, such as lemon and pineapple, may make it more palatable.

Lets grow wheat-grass at home:

  • Take 1 glass of wheat wash and soak overnight.

  • Discard the soaked water by straining.

  • Take a neat kitchen cloth, put the soaked wheat grass on it and tie all the 4 corners tightly.

  • Place them in air tight container and keep it in warm place.

  • After 2 days it will start to sprout, carefully remove them from towel.

  • Take a pot filled with good potting mix, sprinkle sprouted wheat on it.

  • Mist them and keep it on your kitchen slab or semi-light place.

  • After 3 days, grass will be started to grow.

  • Wheat grass is ready to harvest. DONT REMOVE FROM THE ROOT, after cutting it will grow again, kindly keep watering and place in semi-shade.

  • You can harvest it by 3 times, without removing it from root.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat-grass - 1 bunch

  • Mint - 2 string

  • Ginger - 1 inch

  • Lemon juice - 2 tsp

  • Water - 1 glass

  • Salt - as per taste

Instructions:

  • Harvest the wheat-grass by cutting it above the soil. Wash them.

  • In mixer jar, add wheat-grass, mint leaves, ginger and lemon juice, with little water. Grind them well.

  • Strain the juice.

  • Serve them!!

While grinding the juice, the grass will be struck in between the blades, just turn over with spoon and continue.
